All will be beautiful, classy and useful items.

We live in Mid Michigan. If you want to come please drive or fly on over.

You will have to sleep at the foot of the Christmas tree on an air mattress, but you will be right next to the presents so that might be fun.

If you come, we will try to keep the family fights to a minimum. If you can't come, but would like something made from nylon net, please contact me via Melissa.

Any Shakers who need a small tin of homemade rum balls, contact Melissa and she can forward your info to me. I went crazy with the rum balls this year and have an excess.

Re: War in Defense of Christmas: Day Four

No need to cry Susan. I will think of you too and just enjoy my spectacle without any work on your part. Plus, Christmas is so OVERRATED. Believe me, I know. Oh dear, do I know.

You're probably part elf -- you know that, don't you?

Well this elf needs to consume amphetamines or something.

Do my pointsettia and jar full of candy canes (sitting in a saucer of water to ward off ants) count as decorating?

DRD, that sounds like the PERFECT Xmas decorating about now. : )

Re: War in Defense of Christmas: Day Four

((((PortlyDyke)))),
Thank you so much. I finally started spending the day helping at a homeless shelter kitchen, and that was helpful to me. I sometimes still felt lonely, but I didn't feel so miserable.

Know that I'll be thinking of you on Christmas day, at any rate. Seriously.

Petulant, your perseverance and stalwart leadership astound me. I don't do Christmas anymore (except for the one present in the family name-draw), but I love the excuse to strew some greenery around as a Midwinter token, and I love getting to observe your "process".
