if it's set in my child/teenage years, it's jodie foster all the way. i think i got told daily that i looked AND sounded like her. as i've aged, my face has changed and i don't get that anymore :( . going on personality, at least of the character she's best known for, maybe laurel holloman (tina on the L word). but i need more goofy in there. so, maybe leisha hailey (alice on the L word). i promise i know other actresses from other shows, but that's just what popped into my head.

When I was a teenager I was told that I looked like a young Tom Hanks. I'm not sure if that's the case any more.

I'd like John Cusack to play me, because he would make me seem as smart and witty as I imagine myself actually being.

Some people say I look a bit like Julia Stiles, so I guess I say her. Although she's maybe a little too old to play me (I'm 18).
OMG, if Colin Firth were to play Mr. Shakes, I'd soooo totally watch it (well, i'd watch the Shakesville movie with any other actor, as well). But I looooove the Colin Firth Darcy, I've seen that movie like 6 times at least.

I'm going to think of this in terms of casting by type rather than appearance, because I think that happens a lot in movieworld. Somehow, this leads me to Philip Seymour Hoffman, even though he's a man and I'm a woman.

Ok, since Camryn Manheim is already taken, and it would be a very small role . . . I would play myself! I've got one of those handy-dandy acting degrees, too! (2, actually. Stupid student loans!)
Edit: Even better: my college friend Amy Roeder, who is way more talented, gets me, and is about to have her second acting degree.

John Candy- in drag as a somewhat crunchy granola earth mother lesbian w/ 4 kids. Costumed in skecher criss cross maryjane shoes, a long to the floor teeshirt type dress and one of those harmony ball necklaces on a black cord (from mid 90's- my 1 year old baby loves it, sue me!)-- and black Daria type glasses with many hoop earrings. That's the nearest approximation of who I am and what it would take to realistically represent me. Sadly, it could never be (sniff).

When I was young and slender, people said I looked like Helena Bonham Carter, but now she'd have to gain 40 lbs to play me in a movie (or, she could just play a more fabulous me)

I totally see myself as a brainy Emma Thompson type, but my friends have said Phoebe from Friends, and I've also gotten Terri Garr (who played Phoebe's mother on Friends, so... weird!!)

So I dunno. It doesn't make sense. I'm totally bookish and brainy, but around other people suddenly I'm insecure and spacey like Terri Garr. Is this why I can't get a professorship?
